Web-Blast Terms of Use and Engineering Disclaimer
Effective date: 4 August 2026
Web-Blast is an engineering decision-support and planning tool only. It is not a firing instruction, drilling instruction, loading sheet, survey certificate, statutory approval, safety clearance, product approval, guarantee of blast performance or substitute for professional judgement.
1. Competent-person review is mandatory
Every design, calculation, layout, charging proposal, timing sequence, prediction, animation, warning, recommendation and report produced by Web-Blast must be independently checked, corrected where necessary and approved before implementation by a suitably qualified and legally authorised blasting professional or competent person with the required site knowledge, appointment, certificates and authority under the laws applicable to the operation.
2. Site conditions cannot be observed or verified
Web-Blast cannot inspect, measure or verify the actual blast area. Unless accurate information is entered and independently confirmed, the platform cannot account for actual lithology, rock-mass strength, weathering, alteration, jointing, faults, bedding, cavities, voids, old workings, water, temperature, confinement, free-face condition, burden relief, collar and toe position, drilling deviation, hole blockage, hole depth, stemming quality, explosive density, product condition, sleep time, coupling, primer position, initiation-system condition, detonator scatter, installation errors, nearby structures, receptors, environmental conditions or actual site response.
3. Inputs and empirical models
Outputs depend on user-entered data, assumptions, selected rules, empirical equations and model constants. Default values, geology selections, product data, burden and spacing rules, powder factors, fragmentation estimates, vibration estimates, timing contours and recommendations are starting points only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable or misleading for a particular site. Users must verify every input against survey data, drilling records, approved manufacturer information, field inspection, monitoring data and site-specific calibration.
4. No guarantee of results
Web-Blast does not warrant or guarantee fragmentation, vibration, airblast, flyrock, wall control, pull, advance, muckpile shape, excavation profile, diggability, crusher performance, dilution, overbreak, underbreak, safety, regulatory compliance, cost, productivity or any other operational result. Actual outcomes can differ materially from calculated or displayed results even where the software is used correctly.
5. User responsibilities
The user and the responsible operation retain full responsibility for site investigation, design basis, field verification, risk assessment, legal and permit compliance, explosive and initiation-system selection, manufacturer instructions, drilling, loading, tie-up, exclusion zones, clearance distances, guarding, evacuation, monitoring, blast authorisation, firing and post-blast inspection. Software warnings are advisory and do not relieve any person or employer of legal, professional or safety duties.
6. Reports, exports and shared material
Reports, videos, drawings, CSV files, JSON files, screenshots and other exports remain engineering-design aids. Removing, obscuring or separating a disclaimer from an output does not change the limitations of the output. Anyone sharing an output must ensure the recipient receives the applicable assumptions, limitations, revision status and competent-person approval requirements.
7. Availability and errors
The platform and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. Software, calculations, data, integrations and reports may contain defects, omissions, rounding differences, interruptions or errors. Users must maintain independent records and must not rely on Web-Blast as the sole control for any safety-critical activity.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Web-Blast, its owners, developers, suppliers, employees and service providers will not be liable for loss, injury, death, damage, delay, production loss, business interruption, regulatory action or other consequence arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the platform or its outputs. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Acceptance
By creating an account, using the platform, generating an output or implementing any design derived from the platform, the user confirms that these limitations have been read and understood and agrees to obtain independent competent-person review before operational use.
10. Legal review
These Terms are a technical risk-control draft and should be reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel for the countries in which Web-Blast is offered or used.
